The Insulated Chimney Thimble is intended for use in conjunction with any residential and building heating appliance burning gas, liquid, or solid fuels. It is to be used as a thimble/wall pass thru to connect appliances to interior or exterior masonry chimneys while having to pass through a combustible wall in order to connect to the chimney.
The thimble adjusts to accommodate wall thicknesses from 5" to 14". This thimble can be used with rigid pipe connection (12 lbs.) for standard masonry chimneys or tee connection (14 lbs.) for flexible or rigid stainless steel chimney liner systems. The Insulated Chimney Thimble will protrude in the living space a minimum of 3". Includes trim collar for a professional, finished look! 6 in. trim ring measures 20" diameter and 8 in. trim ring measures 22" diameter.
The Insulated Chimney Thimble is an engineered and listed through-the-wall insulated thimble assembly that reduces the minimum 18 inch clearance to combustibles required by N.F.P.A. 211 standard. You must maintain at least a 2 inch air space clearance between interior masonry chimneys (which have any portion of the chimney located within the exterior wall of the building) and combustible materials. The minimum air space clearance between exterior masonry chimneys (which have the chimney completely outside the exterior wall of the building, excluding the soffit or corice area) and combustible material shall be at least 1 inch.
If you need the tee connection thimble for your installation, it will come with a 22" long stainless steel take-off. The take-off will allow you to connect directly to the tee body without any modifications.
