Product Details
Stainless Steel Inner and Outer Chimney Pipe
The Metalbestos Chimney System (MCS) is ideal for venting residential heating appliances burning wood, #2 oil, and natural and LP gas. They have been specifically designed for today's modern, high-efficiency “airtight” wood stoves. They are designed for gravity (natural draft), non-positive internal pressure venting only. The MCS is usable on any appliance having a power burner (such as an oil furnace) if that appliance operates with neutral or negative draft at its outlet. Non-residential appliances which may cause positive pressure in the chimney should use a Selkirk Commercial Model PS or IPS system. High temperature UL listed and tested to withstand flue gas temperatures of 2100 degrees F.
Slim, advanced design allows for installation between 16" centers and still provides 2" clearance from combustible material. Secure twist-lock design couples chimney sections together with just a 1/8 turn. Chimneys are sized according to the inner diameter. Insulated chimney requires 2" clearance to combustible material. Note: Pipe overlap for Selkirk Metalbestos Class A pipe is 1.125 inches.
Note: Sectional overlap of 1 1/8" (12" pipe yields 10 7/8").
Diameters: 6" I.D. has 8" O.D., 7" I.D. has 9" O.D, 8" I.D. has 10" O.D.
For ordering multiple sections of pipe, try our Pipe Length Calculator.
All insulated pipe lengths are furnished with a Locking Band.
Keep in mind, by code you will need to follow chimney height requirements when exiting the roof. Read about the 10-Foot/3-Foot/2-Foot rule on our blog post. As always, please contact us with any questions on planning your installation.
