Specifications
Increase height and draft with our Specialty Chimney Flue Extension. Securely fastened to the uppermost clay liner, these caps can also increase the vertical distance among flues in a multi-flue chimney, reducing the likelihood of smoke being drawn into a downstairs flue.
- 22" Flue Extension increases height by 1 foot
- 34" Flue Extension increases height by 2 feet
Add beauty & curb appeal to your chimney cap by adding optional powder coating. See image swatch above for color options - Read More About Powder Coating
Fabrication time is currently 1 week due to item popularity. Powder coating adds 1 week to the timeline (and is worth the wait!). Due to a variety of sizes and options, each Specialty Flue Extension is made custom per order and is non-returnable.
The Chimney Flue Extension is designed to mount to chimney tile. It can be converted to a Crown Mount by adding a Crown Mount Adapter. You will need this if there is no existing flue tile extending from the chimney top or the flue tile is too short. Note: Must choose "Bolt On" style Specialty Flue Extension with the Crown Mount Adapter.

Measuring for Your Chimney Flue Extension
Measuring the clay flue or chimney opening is an easy thing to do before ordering. In any case, this ensures the flue extension will fit properly.
For clay flue tiles, measure the length, width, and height of the tile. Moreover, for chimney openings that do not have a clay tile protruding above the crown, measure the length and width of the opening (you will need a Crown Mount Adapter for this type of installation). Then, compare these measurements to our sizing chart to find out which size cap to order.
If you need more height than this cap can provide, please consider installing an insulated chimney pipe kit to increase the height of your masonry chimney.
- Outside length of clay flue tile
- Outside width of clay flue tile
- Height of clay flue tile
Installation
Above all, protecting your clay flue and increasing chimney height by installing our stainless steel chimney flue extension is simple. Additionally, follow these tips for a successful installation.
Firstly, place a bead of high-grade exterior silicone along the top of the clay flue. Then, firmly press the single flue cap over the clay flue to create a good bond. Finally, for the Bolt On mounting type, you will need to gently tighten the cone point pressure screws until they make contact with the clay flue tile. Be sure you do not overtighten.
For Clamp On mounting type installations, simply tighten the clamp around the outside of the clay tile. Do not select the clamp on mounting type if using a Crown Mount Adapter.
For installations where the chimney opening does not have a clay tile protruding above the crown, you will need to install the Crown Mount Adapter first. Finally, you can put a bead of silicone where extension cap meets the chimney crown.
