Product Details
The Rigid Liner Top Kit provides everything you need in one package to successfully support, seal and terminate a rigid chimney liner system. The kit includes a Rigid Liner Support Clamp, Rigid Liner Storm Collar, Rigid Liner Rain Cap Inside Mount and choose between either a Rigid Liner Flat Top Plate or a Rigid Liner Terra-Cotta Top Plate. Available for 6" and 8" sizes.
Rigid Liner Top Plate
Choose between the Flat Top Plate or the Terra-Cotta Top Plate to seal off the existing flue from downdraft and weather, while also providing a base for the Rigid Liner Support Clamp to rest on. The Flat Top Plate is available in three sizes, 13"x13", 13"x18" and 18"x18". The flat top plate can be cut to size if your flue is not that large. The best attachment for the Flat Top Plate would be sitting on the chimney crown and using Tapcon screws to anchor the plate to the top of the chimney.
The Terra-Cotta Top Plate is best used for when the clay flue extends a few inches above the top of the chimney crown. The Terra-Cotta Top Plate has sides and will sit over the flue. The sides of the top plate have pressure bolts that are used to tension the plate to the sides of the flue. This is the easiest top plate to install for when the clay flues extend over the top of the crown. Note: The Terra-Cotta Top Plate can not be installed if the clay flue does not extend over the top of the chimney crown.
Rigid Liner Support Clamp
The Rigid Liner Support Clamp is constructed from 18 gauge 304L stainless steel and is used to bear the weight of the rigid chimney liner. The support clamp will clamp around the rigid chimney liner tightly and sit on the rigid liner top plate taking the weight off of the tee connection or the appliance. The rigid liner support clamp is also helpful when installing the rigid chimney liner. You can use the clamp to hold the section of rigid liner as you are connecting the next section. You can then release the clamp and lower the next section of chimney liner down the chimney.
Rigid Liner Storm Collar
The Rigid Liner Storm Collar is used to seal the gap between where the rigid liner comes through the hole of the top plate. The rigid liner does not fit through the top plate tightly. You need to have a little gap to allow the pop rivets extending past the pipe to fit through the top plate. This also provides wiggle room for the liner in case the thimble hole is slightly offset from the center of the chimney. The Rigid Liner Storm Collar wraps around the rigid liner and clamps around the pipe tightly sitting over the Rigid Liner Support Clamp. You will need to apply high temperature outdoor silicon around the Rigid Liner Storm Collar and the rigid liner to make a good seal. The Storm Collar is tapered to ensure water runs away from the pipe and not leaking in the chimney. Constructed from 304L stainless steel.
Rigid Liner Rain Cap Inside Mount
The Rigid Liner Rain Cap Inside Mount is the final termination and last step of installing a rigid chimney liner system. The inside mount cap fits perfectly inside the female end of the chimney liner and is attached to the rigid liner with stainless steel sheet metal screws. The Rigid Liner Rain Cap Inside Mount is equipped with 3/4" mesh screen spark arrestor as well as a wind guard to help fight against wind related downdrafts. Constructed from 304L stainless steel.
