Help & Documents
The Firestop Radiation Shield is galvanized with top flanges that ensure a proper fit into the framed opening. The adjustable upper section extends from 11" to 19" to completely cover the framing. Designed to protect combustible framing as the chimney pipe passes through a floor and/or ceiling.
The Firestop is a required component in a multi-floor installation. Install the Firestop at each floor penetration above the ceiling support including the opening into the attic.
In an attic opening where a Firestop is installed, you may use the attic insulation shield extension and a storm collar in place of an attic insulation shield. You will not need a Firestop at the roof penetration.
