Help & Documents
Constructed from high quality 316Ti stainless steel, the Round Chimney Flue Damper is the best option for restoration projects for wood burning fireplaces. Built to withstand repeated chimney fires, this heavy duty Round Flue Damper will not melt like others on the market. The Round Drop-In Damper is spring powered to ensure reliable operation through varying conditions of use.
Additionally, the damper is recessed approx. 6 inches below the flue's termination point. Use the Round Flue Damper for restoration projects where an exposed damper cannot be used. It's always a good idea to install a rain cap over the damper.
Round Flue Damper Features:
- 32' cable included
- For round air cooled or solid pack chimney pipe, round clay tiles, or round flexible liners
- Note: Check with the manufacturer before installing on a Pre-Fab appliance
- 316L stainless steel construction
- Lifetime Warranty
- Damper size is approx. 1/4" smaller
- Use for wood burning flues only
- Important Note: Do Not use this damper with gas logs or gas appliances
Installation of Your Round Flue Damper
Installation is simple! Firstly, drop the chimney damper down into the flue. The support arm will rest at the top of the liner. The support arm needs to be facing the room opening (see Figure 1 in the instructions PDF).
Secondly, if needed, you can caulk it with a bead of high temperature silicone (as illustrated in the instruction PDF). However, the minimal space between the outer damper ring and your existing flue exists for thermal expansion. Lastly, install the mounting bracket to secure the stainless steel cable.
