The 4" Selkirk Wall Radiation Shield is used as a wall thimble to shield the wall studs for the class A chimney pipe for a through the wall venting application. The 4" Wall Radiation Shield can accommodate a wall thickness of 7.5" to 1" thick. You must use the 4" Selkirk Class A chimney pipe to pass through the Wall Radiation Shield.

The class A chimney pipe must extend at least 6" though the thimble inside the home before you use the 4 '' Selkirk Chimney Pipe Adapter to make the transition to single wall stove pipe. The inside portion of the shield is round and painted with high temperature paint for a finished look. The exterior fire stop is galvanized, capable of withstanding the elements.

To calculate the the length of pipe you need to extend horizontally through the wall you  add (6" + the thickness of the wall + 2") for the proper clearance to combustibles for the vertical pipe running up the side of the home.
